Direct investing delivers results: loan repayments, dividends and new exits

Four loan investments successfully repaid, the first Czech real estate exit, dividends distributed and another property approaching exit. Crowdberry’s results over recent months demonstrate how financing businesses and real estate projects translates into capital repayments and investment returns. Since debt financing was launched on the platform in 2024, investors have provided a total of €17 million. To date, €3.7 million has been returned to investors from the loan portfolio.
Four repaid loans returned €3.7 million to investors
Since April, Crowdberry’s loan portfolio has recorded four successfully repaid investments. The first was Bottova Residence in Banská Bystrica, which delivered an effective annual return of 10.4%. In May, Czech fashion retailer Freshlabels followed, repaying its loan with an effective annual return of 11.3%.
In September, Slovak bicycle manufacturer Kellys joined them. The secured short-term loan provided by Crowdberry investors complemented bank financing from Tatra banka and Slovenská sporiteľňa. The company used the capital to prepare its new model range, strengthen cash flow and navigate its key sales season. The loan was repaid in full after less than five months. Investors earned a return equivalent to an effective annual rate of 13.1%.
“When assessing a loan investment, the interest rate is only one consideration. What matters is the source of cash flow available to repay the loan and whether its maturity aligns with the company’s actual business cycle. Kellys demonstrated how a well-structured seasonal loan can complement bank financing while delivering an attractive return to investors over a short investment horizon,” explains Marek Baranyai, Debt Financing Manager at Crowdberry.
At the end of September, Pohoda Festival also repaid its loan ahead of schedule. It was the first loan investment opportunity offered on the Crowdberry platform. Investors achieved an effective annual return of 9.1%, adding a further €1.7 million to the total volume of successfully repaid loan investments.
